At Rosedown Eggs we are dedicated to producing top quality Cornish eggs. We are a family owned and run business, with three generations of the family involved. All of our eggs are produced, collected, graded and packed by hand on site.
Established in 1987 by Ivan Hewitt and his son David, Rosedown Eggs has grown through our reputation for quality and service.
In 2000 David and his wife Julie took over the business from Ivan. We expanded into free-range eggs in 2004 with our first house for 3,000 birds. This has been so successful that we are now building a second free-range house for 6,000 birds; when completed we will have a total flock of 20,000 laying hens, including 9,000 free-range birds.
Our staff numbers have also increased. We employ local people and currently have three full-time and four part-time staff, with a further full-time position available when the new free-range house is in full production.
Finally our family has also grown, with the arrival of Harry (2002), Daniel (2003), Joseph (2005), and Connie Rose in December 2006. You will spot them around the website.
